Alcoholism and alcohol abuse have long been recognized as among America’s most serious social problems. According to data from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, approximately one in every twelve adult Americans abuse alcohol or suffer from alcohol dependency. But the worst affected by alcohol problems are the youth – alcohol abuse and dependency is most prevalent among young adults aged 18 to twenty-nine.
